Puregon 600 iu is a gonadotrophin hormone cartridge that is intended for injection. It consists of highly purified rFSH (recombinant follicle stimulating hormone) with neither urinary proteins nor LH (lutenising hormone). Puregon ivf fertility is also known as Puregon or Follitropin Beta. Since it is very pure, Puregon is used to treat fertility problems in combination with Pregnyl (hCG – human chorionic gonadotrophin) to stimulate the ovaries in women. Puregon is used as a fertility treatment in men and women. In women it stimulates egg production in healthy ovaries. In men it stimulates sperm production. Serious side effects that require medical attention include: Flu-like symptoms including fever, chills, muscle aches and tiredness, swelling of ankles/hands/feet or bleeding from the vagina. Consult with your doctor immediately if you feel weakness on one side of the body, slurred speech, vision changes, sudden severe headache, pain/swelling of the calf muscles, chest pain, rapid breathing or signs of OHSS.
Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome (OHSS) can cause fluid build up in the stomach, chest, and heart area. Symptoms of OHSS include severe pain/swelling in the pelvic region, severe nausea/vomiting, sudden/rapid weight gain, or change in the amount of urine. If you develop a rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness or have trouble breathing it might be caused by a severe allergic reaction, seek urgent medical attention.
